P - Puño

Dictionary: Academia Autoridades (O-R), 1737
Puño. En la espáda es aquella parte por donde se toma con la mano, que es entre el pomo y el recazo. Suelese hacer de metal sólido, ù de madéra cubierto con plata ò acéro hilado: y en las demás armas de acéro es aquella parte por donde se empuñan. Lat. Ensis capulus. Pragm. de Tass. Año 1680. f.25. Cada mazo de acéro blanco para hacer puños, veinte y quarto reales.

Hilt. In the sword it is that part where one holds it with the hand, that is between the pommel and the recazo. It is usually made of solid metal, or of wood covered with silver or acero hilado: and in the other weapons of acero it is that part where se empuñan. Lat. Ensis capulus. Pragm. de Tass. Año 1680. f.25. Each mazo of white acero in order to make hilts, 24 reales.
